Silvretta has driven over 1700km in Australia!

For the past week, we have been testing our solar car in the Australian Outback. As part of our preparations, we successfully completed a 𝟯 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, during which we planned our days exactly as they would be during the race.

Here some key highlights from our testing:

• Silvretta reached speeds over 90km/h;

• Silvretta proved its stability in side winds up to 55km/h;

• We gathered over 300 million data points for our race strategy models;

• We have recorded over 1 TB of video footage, which we used to create some great recap videos, check them out on YouTube!

During our race simulation we also encountered various issues. But a big part of our project is adapting to the newest challenges thrown at us. As of this post, most of the problems have already been solved!After leaving South Australia, we drove further up the Stuart Highway to Darwin where the race will begin. Here we have two more short weeks to get our car race ready.
